Thanks for Making So Many Children Happy

Chris & Gloria's Story
Chris hurt his back and has been unable to work for a year, so Gloria is the only income for the family. They have 4 kids and 1 on the way. This year, they did not have any money to buy Christmas presents. They received 2 large bags of toys, a bike, a ham, and party bags for each child.
Our Christmas distribution provided gifts and turkeys or hams for 1,268 people.
Special meats given this holiday season:
Families: Turkeys 738, Hams 383
Singles: Cornish hens 88, Chickens 74 |
December #s: 2,127 people provided a week’s supply of food~45,000 Meals~27 Tons
2,200 personal hygiene products, 537 sacks of clothing and 545 sacks of household
Guadalupe’s Story
|
She was especially thankful to have a place to receive Christmas gifts from. “I don’t have any money for Christmas gifts” she explained. She was also appreciative that she got to choose a turkey or a ham for her family Christmas meal. Her part time job does not earn enough income to support her family of six. She has four boys ages 15, 9, 4, and 3 and her husband does not currently have work. Since they do not have much money they also come to our pantry where Guadalupe sometimes volunteers.

OUR PERSONAL NOTE
Dear Friends,
This year’s Christmas distribution was fantastic. We served 787 children, 1,268 including adults with gifts and turkeys or hams. Each family that attended received a beautiful keepsake photo, food, face painting, and crafts. It was held at the Eagle’s Hall, 2226 N Street, which is the building we want to purchase. The volunteers had as much fun giving as the recipients had receiving. Thanks for helping us serve an additional 27% in 2006 or 19,544 food clients, 5,581 bags of clothing and approximately 22,000 household items and 20,000 personal hygiene products. Don’t forget to attend our open house this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Bring a friend!
TEXT OF THE MONTH:
Acts 20:35

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak,
remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'
